The original church building was not far from the location of the present facilities. The church now worships in its fourth sanctuary, which will seat 400. Opportunities for worship, learning, fellowship, and service are offered at Macedonia every week of the year, and an active congregation is deeply committed to its spiritual development and the establishing of the Kingdom of God.
Sunday school classes are offered every Sunday morning at 9:45 for children and adults of every age. There is a high level of participation in this learning opportunity, and visitors are always welcome.
Three active Choirs sing regularly in our Worship Services. The Children’s Junior Choir consists of children ages K-5 and the Youth Choir, ages 6-12, are open to any interested child. An adult Senior Choir provides an opportunity for people from young adult through adult years to express their adoration for the Lord and to lead the congregational singing. In addition to the Choirs, we also have two bands, Brass and Praise, which play for special occasions.
A Midweek Bible Study and Prayer Service is held each Wednesday evening. An in-depth and serious study of the scriptures is the focus of each gathering, along with the prayers and intercessions of the church. We also sing contemporary gospel choruses and scripture songs.
An atmosphere of Christian fellowship pervades Macedonia. The church often gathers for a time of "Family Fellowship," often for a covered dish meal, but always for a time of joyous togetherness and inspiration. Our Women's Fellowship has two active Circles, which also meet on a monthly basis for study, prayer, and service. Our Men’s Fellowship meets monthly for breakfast and fellowship and is active in church and community projects. Our growing Youth Fellowship attracts many young people form the church and community for weekly times of partnership in the Christian faith. A growing Senior Friends chapter provides a monthly occasion for Senior Citizens to come together for a meal and program.
Several years ago, Macedonia began a Mother's Morning Out program, which was an immediate success. This has now grown into a Preschool, offering classes for two, three, and four-year olds. Children are accepted for the program without reference to race or religious affiliation.
Each month the church publishes a newsletter, The Macedonian Call, which is sent to every member of the family. We would be glad to put anyone who requests on the mailing list.
A Nursery is offered every Sunday morning during the Sunday School and Worship Service for small children. A Nursery is also available for most other special events and educational events.
Macedonia's Christmas Eve Candlelight Lovefeast draws large attendances from the congregation and community. These most beloved of all Moravian services are held at 4:00 and 7:00 p.m. every Christmas Eve.
Our excellent facilities consist of our beautiful sanctuary, numerous classrooms, a Fellowship Hall, an outdoor pavilion, a playground for children, a large softball field, two tennis courts, and ample parking. Our unique cemetery recognizes the "democracy of death" with headstones all of which are the same size and shape.
Macedonia is a church where Jesus Christ is Lord and King, where God's people seek to love as committed disciples, where the Bible is honored and received as God's word, and where Christians from many diverse backgrounds have found love and unity in Christ. We invite you to experience our joy.
